The body shape of the Thorus is a combination of tradition and modern design. From its elegant long curved bottom to the small horn on the treble side give the Thorus an incredible balance while playing. Easy access to the control knobs make changes on the fly quick and easy.
The Thorus comes with either 4, 5 or 6 string in 34 or 35 inch scale. Deep cut a way with a hand-carved comfort neck heal allows easy reach of all 24 frets. The balance when using a strap puts everything in line for easy reach of the controls. The tone and sustain are what you expect from a neck through Bass. The wood selections are almost endless for the body wings so you won’t have a cookie cutter instrument. The Bartolini 2 or 3 band active EQ electronics are wired in a way that by removing the jumper in the control cavity, another 9 volt battery can be installed in series. This, along with the easy access 9 volt battery, produces an 18 volt system giving an additional +/- 6 db of tonal response. This is standard on Simmons EQ installations.
